Car Hobbyists make a difference!

Raising money for Animal Rescue and having fun!

Car show judges can be scary!

Even if you are not a member of a car club, you can make a difference just by attending small shows like this. A few dozen Rio Grande Mustang Club members and a small group of local hot rods came to a sleepy suburban cafe to help raise money for a local animal rescue organization. For the club members a chance to socialize, talk cars and get in on some great drawings for prizes. Rather than charge an entry fee, donations to the rescue were suggested. It ran from 10am to 2pm and was a great way to enjoy a late summer sunny day.
To increase traffic, a flea market was held next door. Now, whether the idea was to take advantage of the car show or vice versa would depend on your view of Flea Markets and Classic and Hot Rods Shows. This was not one of the storied events seen on Velocity or such, it was small, local, and to the animals, it meant a lot!

About Us

We bring you fascinating interviews, exciting news, the hottest products and places to get your KarKix!

KarKix is a place to get your car fix.

Ever since the wheel, personal transportation has captured the imagination of young and old alike. For the young it's the promise of freedom, for the old, memories of days gone by, or the simple joy of life.

There are a lot of ways to enjoy the car hobby. Maybe its your daily driver or a collection of beauties. Either way we share your passion. KarKix is a labor of love, by a small posse of co conspirators that hope to engage you for a short while in the automotive hobby world.

While we cover automotive news, we are trying to keep the focus on Classics Hotrods Sports cars and occasionally recreational trucks or even a motorcycle, we ride those too. We want you to participate too. Right now via Facebook and Twitter, but eventually a call in webshow or two is possible. Our goal is to put interesting automotive folks on your radio, or internet radio player, or whatever comes next.

We’ll do our best to entertain and inform. Don’t forget to join us for up close chit chat on our Facebook page. If you stay tuned you’ll hear from people you know, like the guys at Barrett-Jackson or at Shelby American, Hot Rod editor and Speed channel regular Steve Magnate, Wayne Carini, Jay Leno, and many more. The shows I hope you’ll find particularly interesting are the shows with interviews of folks you may NOT know. These are the folks who are making advances, changes, progressing the hobby, and doing good things that we hope you find interesting.

If you're here to learn how to replace your thermostat, or why your 86 Buick Century whines when you turn the wheel, you are not going to get that fix here. If you are wondering what its like to sell your car at a classic auction or where you can get a brand new ’67 Mustang body to build your dream, yeah, this is the sweet spot.

We want you to really enjoy this so be sure to send us your comments. My email is bob@karkix.com We're on Facebook at KarKix, Twitter at @KarKix and on YouTube at KarKixTV, so you can always get involved.
